GANESH UTSAV, 2015

“Ganesh Utsav” is one of the most sacred Hindu festivals that celebrates the birth of Lord Ganesha - the supreme God of wisdom and prosperity. This annual occasion is observed by whole of Hindu community with great fervor and piety. It is the most awaited festival in BITS Edu Campus.

The Utsav started on 17th September 2015 with procession and bike rally. The procession started from Mohmad Tadav, Vadi at 8:00 am. With DJ and Dhol Nagara the procession reached BITS Edu Campus at 1:00 pm followed by Ganesha Sthapna puja and Prasadi.

  • On the occasion of Ganesh Utsav, a cultural program was organized by BITS Institute of Physiotherapy on 19-09-2015. The venue of the program was Ganesh Pandal, BITS Edu Campus, Varnama, Vadodara. It was 1 hour and 45 minutes program which begun with morning Aarti at 9:31 am followed by various cultural events.


The cultural program commenced at 10:15 am in the presence of Dr. Sarfraznawaz Shah (Vice Principal, BITS Institute of Physiotherapy), all faculty members and students of BITS Institute of Physiotherapy. The program was hosted by Shrima and Amatullah (1st yr BPT students). It started with a melodious Ganesh Stuti by BPT students followed by group dance by the students.

The program proceeded with a singing competition between five students which was judged by Dr. Sarfraznawaz Shah and Dr. Rushikesh Joshi. Priyanka Sawant and Ashwani Vichare received winner and runner-up prizes respectively. The singing competition was followed by a solo dance performance by Deepika Singh (2nd yr BPT), a Skit titled “Jholachaap Doctors” by 1st and 2nd yr BPT students. Furthermore, a wonderful solo dance by Pranjali Desai (1st yr BPT) followed by a painting competition which was judged by Dr. Moushumi Debnath and Dr. Camy Bhagat. Competition was held between 14 students out of which Bhargavi Patel and Disha Mistry received winner and runner up prizes respectively.

At the end, results were announced for the respective competitions and distribution of prizes to the students. The program ended with appreciations by Dr. Sarfraznawaz Shah followed by afternoon Aarti and Thaal at 12:15 pm.
